Questions & Answers

Q. On what surfaces does the Diamon-Fusion process work?

A. All silica based materials. This includes all glass, tile, porcelain, and granite.

Q. Why not marble or metals?

A. The molecules do not contain silica oxide, which is required for the molecular bond to occur.

Q. How is the process applied?

A. The process is called “chemical vapor deposition.” The surface to be fused goes through a four step cleaning process and is then coated with a liquid catalyst. A specially designed machine produces a “fog-like” vapor containing the special chemicals needed to make the molecular change. The process happens in a split-second and is immediately usable. All chemicals become inert within a few seconds.

Q. Will I still need to clean my glass, tile, granite or porcelain?

A. Yes you will. The process REDUCES cleaning time it does not eliminate it. For example, many people who squeegee every time they take a shower for fear of hard water stains, can now relax. A simple wipe down with a wet towel and polish with a dry one once every few days is all that is needed.

Q. It sounds expensive, is it?

A. Absolutely not. In fact, it should save money in extending the life of the product and reducing cleaning and restoring costs.

You wouldn’t paint without priming the surface and you wouldn’t put in an expensive stone floor without sealing it for protection. Treating glass, ceramic, porcelain and granite with Diamon-Fusion® will extend the life of the product and its beauty.

Application in our chamber before installation is the least expensive. Field application requires cleaning and set up plus about $7.00 a square foot.

Q. Can I use my regular cleaners to clean the surfaces?

A. You could, but you won’t need to. If maintained properly, the surfaces won’t ever need a cleaner more caustic than vinegar or lemon juice. Water and a wipe usually handle the job. This makes the process truly a “Green” one. Caustic chemicals, which would normally find their way in to the water supply or ocean, are not needed.

Q. Will it harm my High Performance or Insulated Glass.

A. No, it can’t. The process does involve chemicals, however, they become inert within seconds and don’t have the ability to cause damage in the infinitesimal amount of time they are active.

Q. Can the process be done at my home or office on existing surfaces?

A. Yes it can. Surfaces needing treatment are first thoroughly cleaned, then treated at your location. This allows us to restore older surfaces and keep them looking new, eliminated the need for frequent replacement.

Q. What is Diamon-Fusion??

A. Diamon-Fusion? is a process of imbedding a “Diamond-Like” material into the microscopic ridges and valleys present in most silica based building materials. It is used to smooth and protect Glass, Tile, Porcelain, and Granite. The process offers 4 main benefits.

  1. Creates a semi-permanent water repellent barrier. This hydrophobic property makes water act like mercury, beading up and sliding off the surface, extending the life of the treated material.
  2. Creates a semi-permanent stain resistant surface that acts like a transparent Teflon®. Calcium and minerals deposits clean off easily saving as much as 90% of the original cleaning time.
  3. Creates a surface that is much harder to scratch or break, reducing damage from use, transport and installation.
  4. Improves viewing quality through glass for safety in autos and beauty in homes and offices.
